Leeds United 0 Brentford 1
Alex Pritchard’s close-range second-half strike earned a stunning win and took Brentford up to fourth in the Championship table.
The Bees more than matched an improving Leeds side and secured a deserved victory when Pritchard was able to turn in a Toumani Diagouraga cross from six yards.
Leeds always posed a threat – and had three appeals for a penalty waved away.
Rudy Austin twice went down in the box and Billy Sharp felt he should have been given a penalty before Pritchard broke the deadlock.
On-loan Arsenal midfielder Jon Toral almost doubled the Bees’ lead when he smashed a shot against the post.
And as Brentford withstood pressure late on, Sharp went close to equalising with a shot that flew narrowly wide.
Brentford: Button, Odubajo, Dean, Tarkowski, Bidwell, Diagouraga, Douglas, Pritchard (Smith 83), Dallas, Jota (Toral 58), Gray (Long 67).
Subs not used: Bonham, Craig, Saunders, Yennaris.
