Brentford manager Uwe Rosler hailed his team’s performance after they brushed Charlton aside at The Valley.
The Bees’ 3-0 win in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy southern section second round was the perfect response to Saturday’s home thrashing by Huddersfield.
And Rosler declared: “The most enjoyable thing was the way we kept the ball in tight areas. Everybody on the field wanted the ball and we played some nice one-touch football. I saw real enjoyment in my players.”
Rosler called his side in for a meeting on Sunday to discuss the previous afternoon’s 4-0 defeat.
It seemed to have the desired effect, with Brentford easily beating the League One leaders in a match they dominated from start to finish.
“It was a great response from the whole team. Everyone was very positive,” Rosler added.
“I felt it was very important for us to meet each other on Sunday, talk it out and put it behind us. Then on Monday everybody came in in good spirits and I thought that was crucial.”
