Bees reject approach from QPR for Bidwell

QPR have had an approach for Jake Bidwell rejected by Brentford.

Rangers, who also want Huddersfield’s Joel Lynch, plan to make another move for Bidwell, 23, despite being told the Bees are reluctant to sell their captain.

Left-back Bidwell, signed from Everton in 2013 after two impressive loan spells at Griffin Park, is about to enter the final year of his contract.

So too is Wales international Lynch, who has been identified as a potential replacement for Clint Hill following the veteran’s recent departure from Loftus Road.

QPR boss Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink is keen to sign a left-sided defender this summer and worked with Lynch, 28, when the Dutchman was on the coaching staff at Nottingham Forest.

Lynch had a four-year spell at Forest and previously played for Brighton. He joined Huddersfield in 2012 and has made 122 league appearances for the Yorkshire club.
