Millwall 2 Brentford 3
Brentford grabbed their third successive Championship win thanks to a Danny Shittu own goal.
The Bees had dominated as in-form striker Andre Gray bagged two good goals, his second slotted home on 56 minutes.
But three minutes later Millwall had hauled the game level, first through Lee Gregory before a well-taken second by captain Alan Dunne.
Gregory hit the bar for his side just two minutes later but the Lions were left licking their wounds when Shittu tapped into his own net under pressure from Harlee Dean on 66 minutes.
Gray, who scored in recent victories over Derby and Nottingham Forest, was a constant threat and gave the Bees a half-time lead when he latched onto Alex Pritchard’s neat pass and smashed his first into the top corner.
Alan Judge then turned provider with the incisive through-ball that allowed Gray to net his seventh goal of the season.
Millwall put on a pre-match remembrance service that included appearances from World War II veterans and more recent members of the armed forces.
And the hosts, sporting a camouflage-style kit in their honour, pulled a goal back just two minutes after Gray’s second when Shittu put pressure on David Button and the ball dropped for Gregory to tap home.
Brentford suddenly looked bereft of confidence at the back and Dunne was free to drill a low shot into the far corner to equalise on 59 minutes.
But Gray’s cross-shot from the right led to the winner.
