Scott Hogan got more minutes under his belt as Brentford’s Under-21s were beaten 3-1 by Bolton on Monday.
The 23-year-old came off the bench against Blackburn on Saturday for his first first-team appearance since August 2014, after 19 months out injured.
And he continued his recovery by starting the game against Bolton’s youngsters at the Bees’ Jersey Road training ground.
Bolton took the lead on 10 minutes through Jamie Thomas’ penalty, after Jan Holldack had fouled Chris Cvetko.
Reece Cole hit the bar with a free-kick but Brentford did level shortly afterwards as Josh Clarke’s cross was turned into his own net by Callum Spooner.
Bolton, though, regained the lead just before the break through Enock Likoy-Elumba and substitute Alex Samizadeh scored a third on 66 minutes from George Newell’s through ball.
