Roy Hodgson has confirmed Crystal Palace's interest in Said Benrahma but insisted a deal to sign the Brentford star is not close.
It follows reports that Palace are set to sign the Algerian winger, who has also attracted interest from West Ham and Aston Villa.
"At the moment that's not something we've discussed at great length," Palace boss Hodgson said.
"The interest we would have would be totally dependent on the price because it's not really the priority area.
"Our top priority is another striker, and maybe a wide midfielder, but how much funds we have I couldn't possibly tell you."
Brentford want in excess of £20m for Benrahma, who has been a revelation since arriving from Nice two years ago.
Hodgson added: "We know he's a good player, as do many other teams.
"He's a player that's been mentioned and we do know, but a lot has to happen before a concrete move is possible."
