Happy Rosler eyes automatic promotion
Brentford manager Uwe Rosler heaped praise on his players after a dramatic late victory over Portsmouth sealed at least a play-off spot for the club.
Clayton Donaldson scored an 86th-minute goal to win the game 3-2 after Bradley Wright-Phillips had added his second of the game a minute earlier.
The victory means Brentford will finish at least in the top six, but Rosler insists his side are determined to seal automatic promotion.
“I can’t praise my players highly enough,” he said.
“We knew physically we were not in the best shape like Portsmouth, after having just two days to prepare, and they are a difficult team to break down.
“We didn’t have the legs to move around and play our passing game so we tried to limit them.
“But I take nothing away from way from my players. We never gave up. They couldn’t give any more and our substitutes injected so much. Everyone today deserves massive praise.”
Rosler added: “We have three games left and 10 points more than last season. It’s a massive achievement.
“But we are not happy – we want more. We want automatic promotion.”
