Gillingham 1 Brentford 1
Substitute Farid El Alagui scored a stoppage-time equaliser to maintain Brentford’s unbeaten start to the season.
The Moroccan striker poked home Tony Craig’s pass at the death after Gillingham had taken the lead through Adebayo Akinfenwa.
Former Bees manager Martin Allen’s side had lost their opening two fixtures but Akinfenwa crept a shot through the hands of Bees keeper David Button just before half-time.
Brentford had lost Jake Bidwell to injury early on, with the full-back having to be replaced by Javi Venta.
Striker Clayton Donaldson had a deflected shot that hit the Gills post before El Alagui grabbed a point.
