German’s late goal earns Bees a point
Preston 1 Brentford 1
Substitute Antonio German secured a dramatic late point for Brentford with his first senior goal for the club.
The 20-year-old former QPR trainee nodded home a Harlee Dean cross with four minutes remaining.
The Bees had fallen behind to Scott Laird’s strike just after the hour-mark but have now gone six games unbeaten after German’s equaliser.
Sam Saunders started for the first time since September as boss Uwe Rosler opted to play Clayton Donaldson as a lone striker.
New loan signing from Wigan Rob Kiernan took a place amongst the substitutes allowing Dean to continue at centre-back.
And it was Dean who made the surging run forward to set up German to earn a deserved draw.
Brentford: Moore; Logan, Dean, Craig, Bidwell; Forshaw (German 79), Douglas Diagouraga, Forrester (Barron 59), Saunders (Hayes 69); Donaldson
Subs not used: Lee, Kiernan, Dallas, Oyeleke
