Bees must wait for Lewis-Potter and Ajer
Brentford could be without record signing Keane Lewis-Potter and potentially Kristoffer Ajer for the rest of the season.
Lewis-Potter has struggled to make an impact since joining from Hull last summer and is making slow progress in his recovery from the knee surgery he underwent last month.
Ajer missed the past two Premier League matches and Norway’s recent Euro 2024 qualifiers against Spain and Georgia with a calf problem, but Bees boss Thomas Frank remains confident the defender might feature in some of the final 11 games of the campaign.
“Ajer got a minor injury but we are aiming hopefully for him to be back before the end of the season,” Frank said.
“With Keane it is a bit longer perspective, but we’re not sure if it’s the whole season or not. But he is progressing in the right direction.”
Frank confirmed that all the club’s players who were on international duty, including newly-capped England and Germany players Ivan Toney and Kevin Schade, are fit to face Brighton this weekend.
“All of them are available for Saturday,” Frank said.
“Mads Roerslev is also available again, which is positive news.”
