Frank confirmed as new Brentford head coach

Brentford have confirmed the appointment of Thomas Frank as head coach.

The Dane, who previously managed Brøndby, has been promoted following the departure of Dean Smith, who recently left Griffin Park to take over as Aston Villa boss.

Frank, 45, arrived at Brentford as part of Smith’s backroom team in December 2016 and steps up from his role as assistant.

Brentford co-director of football Phil Giles said on the club’s website: “We feel the Club is in a good place and we don’t think it is time for big changes.

“Promoting Thomas to head coach ensures that we can keep building on the foundations that are already in place and working.”
