Adam Forshaw returned to action for Brentford, who were beaten 4-0 by Spanish side Osasuna in a pre-season friendly at Griffin Park.
Forshaw, a transfer target for Wigan, made his first appearance since an ankle injury ended his season in April.
The 22-year-old midfielder came on as a half-time substitute against a team that had too much quality for the Bees.
Osasuna opened the scoring 10 minutes after the interval when Manu Onwu fired past Richard Lee.
Alan McCormack came close for the hosts when his scuffed effort rolled past the post.
Midway through the second half Onwu scored his and his team’s second of the night.
Substitutes Nino and David Garcia both scored late on to round off a comfortable victory for the visitors.
