Bournemouth 2 Brentford 2
Harry Forrester’s cracking equaliser – his first goal for Brentford – saved them from a second defeat in five days.
Forrester was brought off the bench with his team trailing – and he caused Bournemouth all sorts of problems before cutting inside and superbly curling the ball home from the edge of the penalty area.
Farid El Alagui had missed an early chance for Brentford before they went ahead courtesy of an own goal by Simon Francis, who headed Adam Forshaw’s 10th-minute free-kick into his own net.
But Francis atoned by crossing for Matt Tubbs to head in an equaliser and the hosts went in front when Charlie Daniels scored from the penalty spot after keeper Simon Moore had brought down Lewis Grabban.
Bournemouth continued to look dangerous after the break and Moore produced a save to deny Francis before Tubbs sent a header into the side netting.
But the introduction of Forrester made a huge difference, with the young midfielder skipping past the challenge of Francis and shooting narrowly wide.
Clayton Donaldson missed a great chance to level, miscuing from Tom Adeyemi’s cross, before El Alagui volleyed just over after being found by Jake Bidwell.
Uwe Rosler’s men, beaten at Leyton Orient last week despite dominating most of the game, kept going and were rewarded when Forrester levelled on 68 minutes.
They had to ride their luck in the closing stages though, with Tubbs shooting tamely at Moore after being put through on goal and Joe Partington firing against the Bees post with four minutes remaining.

Subs not used: Barron, Saunders, Fredericks, Legge.
