Brentford 2 Coventry City 1
Harry Forrester scored a last-gasp penalty to give Brentford a dramatic victory.
They went behind as early as the seventh minute when Nottingham Forest loanee David McGoldrick got the better of Harlee Dean and Tony Craig and slotted underneath Simon Moore.
But Forrester equalised just before half-time when he finished a superb passing move by beating keeper Joe Murphy from close range.
And the promising young midfielder blasted home from the spot two minutes into injury time after being brought down by Steven Jennings.
Uwe Rosler’s side returned to Griffin Park on the back of two winless games on the road and they quickly found themselves a goal down.
Both striker Paul Hayes and skipper Jonathan Douglas missed close-range headers before Forrester netted after being put through by Adam Forshaw.
James Spencer, on loan from Huddersfield, was brought on for his debut with 15 minutes to go in place of Hayes, who missed a number chances to open his Bees account in the second half.
But the outstanding Forrester won the game for Brentford after his fine run had tricked Jennings into fouling him.
