Brentford boss Mark Warburton admitted that his team paid the price for shoddy defending against Ipswich.
The 4-2 defeat at a sold-out Griffin Park, where the Bees trailed 3-0 at half-time, sent Ipswich to the top of the Championship.
“We made basic errors and you can’t make errors of that nature,” Warburton said.
“There wasn’t a great deal of saves for David Button to make but we conceded four goals – we made mistakes from minute one.
“We have to recognise that you can’t give away goals of that nature at this level.”
Brentford are in action again on Sunday when they visit Molineux to take on Wolves.
