Duo join the board at Brentford
Two local businessmen have joined the board of Brentford.
Bees fan Mike Power, 66, is also on the board of the company overseeing the Lionel Road stadium project.
He was chief operating officer for London’s successful 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games bid and held the same role for the first two years of the London Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Power, who was divisional president of Proctor and Gamble, is also senior director of the Sport and Recreation Alliance.
He is joined in the Griffin Park boardroom by Isleworth-born lawyer Nity Raj, who has business links with Brentford director Phil Whall and owner Matthew Benham.
He is currently general counsel at Smartodds, a statistical research company, and a director of Danish club FC Midtjylland, both owned by Benham.
Brentford chairman Cliff Crown said: “I am delighted that Mike and Nity have accepted our offer to join the board.
“They bring with them enthusiasm and passion for the club.
“They also have a range of skills which we are already utilising to support the management team at the club.
“I am confident they will both make an outstanding contribution to Brentford Football Club for many years to come.”
