Judge ‘one of Brentford’s best signings’

Mark Warburton has hailed Alan Judge as one of Brentford’s “best ever signings”.

The Dubliner, 26, has been outstanding since he arrived from Blackburn, initially on loan before a permanent move in the summer.

Judge will face his former club at Griffin Park today and Bees boss Warburton told West London Sport: “He will relish this game.

“Blackburn are a huge club with a huge following and maybe it wasn’t right for Alan at the time. It’s about the right environment for the right player.

“The loan worked well, we looked after him and his family settled, and he’s been a fantastic player for us. He must be one of our best ever signings.

“Alan is a mature professional, full of enthusiasm, energy, quality and focus. I love watching him play.”

Brentford have a fully fit squad for Rovers’ visit and Warburton wants a positive response from his players following the defeat at Huddersfield last week.

“The players know they had an off-week so we have to respond in the right manner,” he said.

“They dipped below their best and paid the price for it. We have to be aware of their threat and impose ourselves on the game.”
