Brentford have signed midfielder Ryan Williams from League Two side Morecambe.
The 24-year-old has agreed a one-year contract at Griffin Park and is the Bees’ second signing of the summer after Akaki Gogia.
Williams was released by Morecambe last month, having only made 12 league appearances for the Shrimpers last season, but Brentford have been quick to snap him up.
Phil Giles, the Bees’ co-director of football, said: “Ryan is a player who we feel has a lot of unreleased potential and we can really help develop him over the season.”
Birkenhead-born Williams came through the youth ranks at Chester City and later played for Colwyn Bay, Llandudno and Welsh Premier League outfit Rhyl.
He joined Morecambe in 2012 and scored six goals in 61 games, his final appearance coming in February.
