Ajer and Hickey to miss West Ham game
Brentford duo Aaron Hickey and Kristoffer Ajer will not be ready in time to return for the Premier League clash with West Ham.
Ajer is back in full training having recovered from a knee injury but is not yet fit enough to be involved.
Hickey, meanwhile, is close to returning to full training, according to boss Thomas Frank.
“Ajer trained fully with us today, so it was very nice to have him in the training group,” Frank said.
“Hickey is getting closer to full training with us, so they’re progressing well and are ahead of schedule, so that’s positive.
“I think we can hope for some minutes against West Ham in the FA Cup but that will still be tough to make. Kristoffer is more likely to be ready for the FA Cup game.”
Goalkeeper Thomas Strakosha is also getting closer to making his return from an ankle ligament injury and will be assessed ahead of the game with West Ham.
But midfielder Shandon Baptiste remains out with a groin issue, while Frank Onyeka is still nursing a “minor” hamstring injury.
