Brentford defender Raphaël Calvet is close to completing a season-long loan move to Royal Antwerp.
The 20-year-old has not made a league appearance since arriving from AJ Auxerre a year ago and is set to move to Belgium in search of first-team football.
Brentford have long planned for him to spend time away from the club on loan this season.
“It would be great for him. He needs to go and play – it’s really important,” said Bees boss Mark Warburton, who is hoping to send a number of the club’s other fringe players out on loan.
Calvet , a France Under-20 international, signed a three-year contract when he moved to Griffin Park.
His solitary first-team outing came in a Johnstone’s Paint Trophy game against Peterborough last October.
