Brentford have confirmed the signings of Walsall left-back Rico Henry for an initial fee of £1.5m and Crystal Palace winger Sullay Kaikai.
West London Sport revealed on Sunday that the Bees were targeting Kaikai, with boss Dean Smith (pictured) keen to add width to his squad, and on Tuesday that they had made a move for 19-year-old Henry.
Both deals were completed on a transfer deadline day that also saw midfielder Emmanuel Ledesma depart for Greek side Panetolikos.
Highly-rated teenager Henry, who has signed a five-year deal with Brentford, is well known to Smith from their time together at Walsall.
He made his senior debut at the age of 17 and established himself as the Saddlers’ first-choice left-back last season as they finished third in League One.
Henry’s performances earned him a place in the PFA League One team of the year, while he was also named in the top three for the Football League young player of the year award last season.
However, he will not be available to play for the foreseeable future as he has a shoulder injury that may require surgery.
Kaikai, 21, who signed a long-term contract with Palace in 2014, will be with Brentford for the rest of the season.
He has previously had loan spells at Crawley, Cambridge and Shrewsbury.
