Brentford boss hopes to keep key pair
Brentford boss Marinus Dijkhuizen has insisted he wants to keep hold of striker Andre Gray and left-back Jake Bidwell amid rumours of interest from rival Championship clubs.
QPR and Hull City have been linked with a move for top scorer Gray, while left-back Bidwell was said to be a target for Fulham before they signed Everton’s Luke Garbutt.
Dijkhuizen, who has already told midfielder Jonathan Douglas he is free to leave, said he hoped to keep both Gray and Bidwell.
On Gray, he said: “He’s a good striker so I can imagine there’s always clubs looking for him.
“Every club wants two or three good strikers, and there’s always big money involved.
“But I hope not because he’s a good player, he’s fast, he’s strong – I like him.”
And Dijkhuizen was equally dismissive of the Bidwell to Fulham rumours, adding: “That’s new for me, I’ve never heard that.
“The position is very vulnerable because we have just one real left-back. So that would be not a good choice [to sell].”
“He’s a very good professional, I like his attitude.”

Andre is a very strong striker I always felt he needed another striker working with him .We need to give him time to work with new strikers I feel there’s still a lot to achieve with him.The best is to come.Jake has always been a yes for me I love the way he moves up on the attack and creates goal opportunities .He’s also fast at returning to his defensive postion. Two player’s from last seasons team that have a massive role and impact on the game .It would be regretful to see these two players working for another club.
