Frank confident Brentford will keep improving

Thomas Frank is confident Brentford’s key players will continue to improve this season.

Aaron Hickey impressed in his first campaign at the club, while Keane Lewis-Potter and Mikkel Damsgaard had difficult first seasons and Kevin Schade arrived in January.

Lewis-Potter has been troubled by injury problems since being signed from Hull, but Bees boss Frank believes brighter times lie ahead for him.

Frank said: “We will definitely still try to have progress, still try to develop, still try to add layers and try to be better.

“I want to develop the players. Just as an example, we have some young players in Hickey, Lewis-Potter, Schade and Damsgaard. I expect them to be better this year, all of them.

“If they get better, hopefully that makes the team better, and we lift.”

Frank also believes some of Brentford’s more seasoned players, such as Bryan Mbeumo, Rico Henry and Mathias Jensen, can take their game up a level too.

He explained: “There are three players that are not young, young – (they are) youngish, in Bryan Mbeumo, Rico Henry and Mathias Jensen. All three had a very good season last year and I expect them – and I’ve told them this personally – to add another layer.

“If all that adds up, hopefully we can keep doing well. We hope we can progress.”
