Brentford completed a league double over QPR this season by beating them 3-1 at Griffin Park. Here’s how we rated each player in the west London derby.
A terrific performance from the Bees keeper, who produced superb saves to deny Joel Lynch and Matt Smith.
Had a very assured game at right-back and won the penalty which led to Brentford’s second goal.
Caused problems by Matt Smith in the air but stuck to the task and won a number of challenges.
A great day for the defender, who put his team ahead and then prevented a second-half equaliser with a goal-line clearance.
Impressive at both ends of the pitch. Defended well and QPR could not contain him on the left flank. Missed a good chance to score after being put through by Sergi Canos though.
Worked hard and passed the ball sensibly. A tidy display.
Not as influential as he was at Loftus Road earlier in the season, when he was sensational, but effective nonetheless. He was calm in possession and won plenty of second balls.
Did the basics well as Brentford imposed themselves in midfield for long periods.
Excellent on the flank, especially in the first half when he went close to scoring and was too good for James Perch.
Brilliant stuff from the Spaniard. Delivered the corner which led to the opening goal, tucked away his penalty to double the lead and his second was a sublime goal to put the game beyond QPR’s reach.
Gave Brentford a boost by being passed fit for the game and worked hard up front. Would have scored but for a fine save from Alex Smithies.
Back to form after a couple of slightly below-par performances. Kept Rangers in it with a fine save from Vibe.
Given the runaround by Canos in the first half. Fared better in the second but that was because Brentford were largely threatening on the opposite flank.
Decent enough for the most part but sloppy on the ball at times and was given problems by Vibe’s cleverness.
Scored with a firm header but was unconvincing at the back. Gave away a penalty with a foul as he looked to retrieve the situation after losing possession in the box, and was beaten by Jota for the third Bees goal.
A miserable return to Griffin Park for the former Brentford man, who was also dazzled by Jota for the third goal. Henry is an upgrade for the Bees at left-back.
Full of running but lacked invention. Had very little impact before being substituted.
Replaced at half-time after a pedestrian 45 minutes in which Rangers were often overrun in midfield.
Worked hard in midfield – and needed to given how ineffective Goss was in the first half – and was unlucky when a long-range strike hit the bar.
His deliveries from set-pieces were largely very good, with one leading to Conor Washington going close and another to Lynch’s goal. Also set up a late chance for Idrissa Sylla.
Unlucky when he was denied an equaliser after Barbet’s clearance but that came after he missed two good chances. Now without a goal in his last 10 Rangers appearances.
Did what he is selected to in that he won plenty in the air, bringing saves from Bentley and setting up chances for Lynch and Washington.
Unable to make much of an impression after being brought on at the interval, although he did set up a chance for Smith with a good cross.
Also unable to affect the match after coming on midway through the second half.
Missed a late chance to pull a goal back.
