Uwe Rosler aimed a verbal swipe at disgruntled Brentford fans following the 2-1 victory at Bristol City – his team’s second successive win.
The Bees boss came under fire from supporters following a shaky start to the campaign by last season’s beaten play-off finalists.
And he took particular exception to chants of “You’re getting sacked in the morning” when they were 1-0 down against Colchester on Saturday.
Brentford hit back to win that game 3-1 and secured another three points courtesy of late goals from Sam Saunders and Clayton Donaldson against relegated City, who are yet to win this term.
And Rosler said: “I have to give Bristol City supporters the thumbs up.
“How they supported their team when they were 2-0 down, bottom of the league, having come from the Championship – well done to them. I wish we had that at our home games.”
Brentford themselves enjoyed good support at Ashton Gate, where the visitors took control of the game after tricky start.
Rosler added: “We always have a very good away support. It has been strong in the past two-and-a-half years and it was very good today.”
