Adam Forshaw hopes the dressing-room discussion held after the defeat at Stevenage on Saturday will prove to be a turning point in Brentford’s season.
The Bees suffered fourth loss in six league games and it resulted in a frank exchange between manager Uwe Rosler, his staff and the players which lasted more than an hour-and-a-half.
It has been a disappointing start to the season for last term’s beaten play-off finalists and midfielder Forshaw believes the meeting was much needed.
“It was good and we needed it – the problems we’ve had have been really hard to put your finger on,” Forshaw told West London Sport.
“Everyone got things off their chests. We went round the whole group and said how we feel and where we think it has gone wrong.
“People gave their ideas on how we can improve and every player had his say.
“I said that attacking-wise we need to be more clinical, myself included.
“We are creating chances – if we weren’t we’d be more worried than we are – but we’re not putting them away.
“Performances and general play have been okay but we’re not getting goals or keeping goals out and that’s not good enough.”
Forshaw added: “We’ve had a bad run of games, we’ve talked about it, but we can’t dwell on it now. We’ve got to look forward to Colchester on Saturday and we are, massively.
“For the most part it is now forgotten about. Our start is not a disaster.
“We are still two points behind where we were this time last season so who’s to say we can’t go on another really good run like we did last year?
“If we look back at Saturday’s result, and the meeting, then it might be what spurs us on to have a good season and achieve what we want.”
