Brentford and Bournemouth have agreed a £12m deal for Chris Mepham, who is set to join the Premier League club.
West London Sport initially revealed the interest in Mepham from Bournemouth, who had offers for the Hammersmith-born central defender rejected last January and during the summer transfer window.
The Cherries remained keen on Mepham, 21, and again made an approach to Brentford to see if an agreement could be reached.
The two clubs agreed a deal on Monday night and Mepham is due to undergo a medical on Tuesday before completing his move.
