Brentford have agreed an undisclosed fee with Doncaster Rovers for Harry Forrester, avoiding the need for a tribunal.
Forrester, 22, signed for the Championship club during the summer after turning down new contract at Griffin Park when his previous deal ended.
As the player is under 24, he was too young to move on a Bosman free transfer and in such cases – such as Will Grigg’s move to Brentford from Walsall – a tribunal decides a compensation fee.
After being released by Aston Villa, Forrester joined the Bees in August 2011 and made 68 appearances for them, scoring 11 goals.
He has so far made two appearances for Doncaster, both as a substitute.
A tribunal recently ordered Brentford to pay Walsall an initial £325,000 for striker Grigg, with more possible payments to follow.
