Fans to be asked for their views on major issues
Supporters of all 72 English Football League clubs are being given the chance to have their say on everything from VAR to ticket prices in a wide-ranging study.
The 2019 EFL Supporters Survey will be the biggest in nearly a decade, with fans able to provide feedback on a host of significant issues that have impacted the game in recent seasons.
Among the issues included in the survey are fixtures scheduling, ticket pricing and standing, the format of EFL competitions, match officials and the introduction of goal-line technology and the use of VAR in the Carabao Cup, as well as television and online broadcasting.
EFL chief executive Shaun Harvey said: “The 2019 EFL Supporters Survey, in partnership with EFL clubs, is the biggest opportunity for a decade for supporters to tell us their views, which in turn will allow both the EFL and its clubs an opportunity to evaluate various key matters and areas for improvement.
“It is a substantial survey and one that we hope supporters will contribute to with constructive feedback in order to help us to develop what we collectively deliver on and off the pitch across three divisions, in over 1,600 matches and in 72 towns and cities in England and Wales.”
The survey is expected to take between 20 and 25 minutes to complete, with some open-ended questions included and it is thought not all fans will answer every one.
The EFL regularly canvases supporters on various issues, but the governing body has not undertaken such an in-depth project since 2010.
Many relevant issues are tackled within the survey, such as the match-day experience, views on broadcasting, sponsorship and issues around policy, with a couple of options for supporters to add in their own comments.
It is hoped the outcome will provide some good insight and quantitative data from which to learn as well as providing qualitative feedback for EFL clubs.
