Everton are considering recalling Chris Long from his loan spell at Brentford.
Long’s loan period was recently extended until 18 April but injuries to Everton strikers Romelu Lukaku and Arouna Kone mean he could return to Goodison Park.
Everton have a recall option enabling them to take the 20-year-old forward back.
And they are unsure about letting him stay in west London now they are facing the prospect of being without Lukaku and Kone, who both limped off during their 2-1 win at QPR on Sunday.
It leaves Brentford with a potential problem ahead of today’s loan deadline.
Long joined them on an initial month’s loan in January and has since made nine appearances for the Bees, scoring four goals.
He made his first-team debut for Everton earlier this season when he came on as a substitute in a Europa League game against FC Krasnodar.
