Douglas signs new Brentford contract
Jonathan Douglas has signed a two-year contract extension at Brentford – two days before he could face Frank Lampard in the FA Cup.
Midfielder Douglas, 31, was delighted to put pen to paper ahead of Sunday’s fourth-round clash with Chelsea at Griffin Park.
“To come up against somebody like ‘Lamps’ would be great for me and I’m really looking forward to that,” he said.
“But if he doesn’t play then somebody else world class will and I’ve just got to focus on my game.”
Douglas added: “Over the last two years since I signed here I have grown to love living in the area and I’m well settled now.
“I’m playing under a manager I really respect and with a group of players that I really respect and they all deserve so much credit for the work they have done with us and what they’ve done for me.
“On a personal level things feel great and now I can’t wait to get out there on Sunday and try and reach my best level against the European Champions.”
