Dean Smith was proud Brentford did not give Fulham a party at his side’s expense in the Bees’ penultimate game of the season.
Brentford drew 1-1 in the west London derby at Fulham, who all but mathematically secured a play-off spot with a point.
Nico Yennaris’ goal cancelled out Tom Cairney’s early opener, with Bees keeper Dan Bentley saving the Fulham captain’s penalty on the stroke of half-time.[/phone
Smith said: “We didn’t want to come here and allow Fulham to have a party at our expense.
“They’ve made the play-offs but because of other results.
“The players gave everything today and we are finishing the season really well. I’m really pleased to come here and be unbeaten.
“It was a different kind of performance from us. It’s been fast attacking football in recent weeks.
“Fulham dominated possession but I thought as a defensive unit we did well.”
Smith also gave an update on his three injured players, full-backs Rico Henry and Maxime Colin and midfielder Ryan Woods.
