Forshaw penalty gives Bees another win

Adam Forshaw’s early penalty was enough to give much-improved Brentford another victory.

Forshaw scored from the spot after five minutes following a foul on Kadeem Harris by Kyle McFadzean.

It gave Uwe Rosler’s men a fourth consecutive victory and leaves them fifth in League One, having come through a difficult early-season spell.

Winger Harris, on loan from Cardiff City, impressed again as the Bees proved too strong for a Crawley side that has now lost three matches in a row.

Forshaw almost doubled the lead after being set up by substitute Sam Saunders, while Harris also went close.

But the hosts did have their moments in the second half, with Andy Drury missing a couple of good chances and Mike Jones sending an effort narrowly wide.

And former Brentford man Gary Alexander made a mess of a late opportunity to equalise.
