Defender Tony Craig has signed a new contract, which keeps him at Brentford until the summer of 2017.
The 29-year-old, who has made 117 appearances since joining from Millwall in July 2012, captained the Bees in the 2013 League One play-off final defeat and was also the skipper for the majority of last season as the team won promotion,
He lost his starting place after being sent off against Birmingham in August but returned to the side in recent weeks, helping the Bees move into the Championship play-off places following a run of four wins and two draws in their last seven games.
Manager Mark Warburton said Craig’s deal was “tremendous” news and added: “It shows the commitment on both sides.
“Tony’s attitude, desire and professionalism are evident for all to see. Securing him for the long term gives us stability at a vital time of the season.”
