MK Dons 2 Brentford 2
Brentford conceded two late goals after a contentious decision changed the momentum of the game.
The Bees, who sealed automatic promotion to the Championship on Friday, looked on course for their 28th victory of the season when Clayton Donaldson fired them into a 2-0 lead on the hour.
James Tarkowski had put them ahead in the first half but the Dons were awarded a penalty late on when David Button was deemed to have fouled Izale McLeod in the box.
Keeper Button appeared to push the ball away before contact with the striker was made, with Stephen Gleeson converting from the spot, and then McLeod headed in the equaliser in stoppage time.
Will Grigg and Donaldson were wasteful in the final third in the first half and so the Bees needed David Martin to gift them the lead – the Dons keeper dropping Forshaw’s corner into Tarkowski’s path.
Forshaw turned provider again when he put through Donaldson for the second but the Bees were stunned when the referee penalised Button and booked him for bringing McLeod down.
Kevin O’Connor came on to make his 498th Bees appearance but he could not get close to McLeod when he rose to head the Dons level at the death.
