Cherries worry Brentford in tense draw

Brentford 0 Bournemouth 0

Brentford came through a tough encounter against their fellow promotion chasers with a point, extending their unbeaten league run to 12 matches.

Manager Uwe Rosler cited Eddie Howe’s side as the league’s in-form team in his programme notes.

And the visitors, who created most of the game’s chances, can consider themselves unfortunate not to have won.

Harry Arter went closest for the Cherries when his effort deflected onto the bar in the second half.

Keeper Simon Moore [pictured above] returned from a groin problem to replace Richard Lee, while Harry Forrester, Adam Forshaw and Tom Adeyemi also returned to the Bees starting line-up.

Forshaw saw two long-range efforts whistle past each post early on and Marcello Trotta had a fierce shot saved before half-time.

But Bournemouth looked the most likely to score after the break, with Arter hitting the woodwork and substitute Josh McQuoid firing wide from six yards with the goal at his mercy.

Brentford: Moore; Logan (Hodson 57), Dean, Craig, Bidwell; Forshaw (Diagouraga 74), Douglas, Adeyemi, Forrester; Donaldson, Trotta (Hayes 77)
Subs not used: Lee, Saunders, Reeves, Kiernan
