Brentford produced an encouraging performance in their pre-season friendly against Celtic at Griffin Park and were unlucky to lose 2-1 to the Scottish champions.
Adam Forshaw put the Bees ahead before Amido Balde and Callum McGregor scored either side of half-time for Celtic, whose fans launched smoke bombs and invaded the pitch on a number of occasions.
Youngster Jack Bonham, who joined from Watford last month, made his first start in goal for Brentford with Simon Moore and Richard Lee both out with injuries.
Clayton Donaldson was also missing but new signings George Saville, Martin Fillo and Alan McCormack all started for a second successive game.
Experienced Spaniard Javi Venta came on in the second half to make his first Brentford appearance, while trialist goalkeeper Winstone Boldt was on the Bees bench.
