Brentford’s Tarkowski set to join Burnley
Brentford defender James Tarkowski is closing in on a move to Championship rivals Burnley after the two clubs agreed a fee.
The 23-year-old will undergo a medical on Monday and is expected to complete the deal before the transfer window shuts at 11pm.
Tarkowski has not been picked by Brentford since refusing to play against Burnley on 15 January.
The former Oldham centre-back last week issued a statement apologising for pulling out of the match, and explained he wanted to move back up north to care for his terminally-ill mother.
Burnley, Sheffield Wednesday, Derby, Norwich and West Brom have all been monitoring Tarkowski, and the Bees rejected several offers for the defender this month.
However, Sean Dyche’s side are now set to sign Tarkowski having had their bid accepted.
