Bees chief rules out further loan signings

Brentford sporting director Mark Warburton insists the club are not looking to add any further loan signings before January.

Sheffield Wednesday defender Martin Taylor returned to Hillsborough on Monday following a two-month spell at Griffin Park, while Stuart Dallas’ loan at Northampton was extended until the new year.

Youngsters Luke Norris, Emmanuel Oyeleke and Alfie Mawson are also out on loan at lower division sides.

But Warburton believes manager Uwe Rosler has plenty of options at his disposal following the return of Jonathan Douglas and Jake Bidwell from injuries and the arrival of winger Kadeem Harris on loan from Cardiff.

Warburton told West London Sport: “I don’t think there will be any more business from us.

“We are quite comfortable at the moment. The bench looks very strong and I think we’re in okay shape until January.

“We needed Taylor because Jake Bidwell was out and Tony Craig was covering at left-back. Tony did a great job but he prefers to play as a central defender.

“Jonathan Douglas has come back too and Kadeem Harris has done well, so we have a lot of midfield and attacking options and we can recall Stuart Dallas from Northampton at any time if we need to.”

Despite Taylor’s return to Wednesday, Brentford still have four options at centre-back with Craig, Harlee Dean, Kevin O’Connor and on-loan Cardiff youngster Ben Nugent all available.

Warburton added: “The difficult thing is if you go for a loan from a Premier League or a top Championship club then they demand that their players play.

“And if we are paying a high loan fee and high wages then we want that person to play too.

“Why would you want to split up Tony Craig and Harlee Dean’s partnership up? They’ve been excellent for us.”
