Brentford’s New Zealand Under-20 international goalkeeper Nik Tzanev has joined Ryman League side Lewes on a youth loan.
The 18-year-old, who turned professional this summer after emerging from the Bees academy, will stay with the Rooks until 6 October.
Tzanev has spent the last two years studying for his A-levels as well as playing for Brentford’s youth team, also squeezing in two appearances for the development squad last season.
His performances earned him the Brentford youth team player of the year award and a call-up to the New Zealand youth ranks.
He appeared for them in the Under-20 World Cup and was also in the New Zealand squad for the Olympic Games qualifying tournament, but did not play.
