Judge helps Bees to another victory
Brentford 3 Bristol City 1
An inspired performance from Alan Judge helped League One leaders Brentford to their 11th consecutive home league win.
Judge, recently signed on loan from Blackburn, scored one and set up another in what was a comfortable victory for the hosts.
Brentford went ahead through Aden Flint’s own goal before Karleigh Osborne equalised against his former club.
But Irishman Judge was a constant thorn in City’s side and got his reward when his strike was palmed into the net by goalkeeper Elliot Paris, and Marcello Trotta added the third three minutes before the break.
Brentford were ahead inside the opening 10 minutes after Jake Bidwell’s low cross from the left was turned into his own net by Flint.
Osborne fired in from distance before immediately being substituted after pulling a muscle.
Neat play between Trotta, Alan McCormack and Judge caught the City defence flat-footed and the winger’s powerful shot ended up in the net.
Trotta scored his second goal in as many games, finishing from inside the six-yard-box after being found by Judge.
George Saville almost made it four but fired over after being found by Jonathan Douglas.
Brentford: Button; Logan, O’Connor, Craig, Bidwell; Douglas, Saville, McCormack (Reeves 69); Judge (Grigg 75), Trotta (Akpom 75), Donaldson.
Subs not used: Lee, Dallas, Diagouraga, Yennaris.
