Brentford 2 Bradford 0
Second-half goals from Clayton Donaldson and George Saville gave Brentford a vital win as they chase automatic promotion.
Donaldson scored his 14th league goal of the season just after the hour mark, firing a left-footed drive into the bottom right-hand corner of the net.
And Saville struck 15 minutes before the end when his scuffed effort found its way past Jon McLaughlin in the Bradford goal.
Bradford struggled to create any real chances, their best falling to captain Gary Jones, but his shot was straight at Bees keeper David Button.
They did threaten in the first half. Kyle Bennett’s right-footed cross found its way to Chris Atkinson but the striker fired over on the volley.
The hosts started the second half much better and looked to have opened the scoring when Alan Judge’s low cross was met by Will Grigg, but he saw his scuffed shot graze the side of the post.
Jonathan Douglas saw his header rebound back off the Bradford post before finally the Bees got the reward their effort deserved when Donaldson fired in the opener.
Chelsea loanee Saville sealed the win with a scrappy goal after Marcello Trotta’s heavy touch found its way to him in the box.
Second-placed Leyton Orient’s draw at Notts County means Brentford, with two games in hand, moved to within one point of the east London side, who they face next weekend.
