Dasilva ruled out of Chelsea game with hamstring injury

Josh Dasilva will be absent for Brentford’s visit to Chelsea on Saturday with a “minor hamstring injury”.

The midfielder has played just four times for the Bees this season having missed most of the campaign due to a hip problem.

Dasilva has served a three-game suspension after a red card against Newcastle but has now picked up another injury.

“He’s doing very well, but unfortunately he got a minor hamstring injury so he will be out for this weekend,” boss Thomas Frank said.

Christian Eriksen, however, will start the match having missed Brentford’s last game, against Leicester City, due to a positive Covid-19 test.

The 30-year-old recently returned to international action with Denmark for the first time since suffering a cardiac arrest while playing for his country at last summer’s European Championships, scoring against both the Netherlands and Serbia.

“I don’t think it’s a secret that he will start tomorrow,” Frank added.

“I think he’s relatively back to where we want him to be. Unfortunately he got Covid which meant that he couldn’t play for us against Leicester but that also meant that he only played 45 against Holland.”

Meanwhile, Bees midfielder Vitaly Janelt has signed a new contract.
