Brentford snap up teenage keeper
Brentford have signed teenage goalkeeper Patrik Sigurður Gunnarsson from Icelandic club Breiðablik for an undisclosed fee.
The 17-year-old Iceland youth international has signed a two-year contract at Griffin Park and will initially play for Brentford’s B team.
He impressed during a trial with the Bees last season, convincing them to snap him up.
Brentford’s B team boss Kevin O’Connor told the club website: “We had Patrik training with us towards the end of last season and he showed us he has the potential to be a top goalkeeper.
“There is still room for improvement but he is a young man and we look forward to developing the talent he has over the coming years.”
