Brentford sign Watford defender on loan

Brentford have signed Northern Ireland defender Adam Thompson on a month’s loan from Watford.

The 18-year-old, who can play at right-back or as a central defender, featured for Watford in a recent pre-season friendly against the Bees.

He represented his country at Under-17, Under-19 and Under-21 level before winning his first senior international cap against Scotland in May.

Meanwhile, back-up goalkeeper Simon Moore has signed a new two-year contract at Griffin Park.
