Brentford sign Rochdale hotshot Hogan
Brentford have completed the signing of Rochdale striker Scott Hogan for an undisclosed fee.
The 22-year-old, who scored 19 goals in all competitions last season and was in the PFA League Two Team of the Year, has agreed a three-year contract at Griffin Park.
His form had attracted the attention of several Championship clubs but the Bees have won the race.
Boss Mark Warburton said: “We have admired Scott’s obvious goalscoring ability and all-round contribution over a period of time.
“He fits our criteria in terms of age and development and potential.
“It is testament to the work of sporting director Frank McParland and his team that we have got Scott.”
Hogan came through the youth ranks at Rochdale but was released in 2010 before making a first-team appearance.
The Manchester-born forward spent three years in non-League before rejoining Dale last summer, and his goals saw him shortlisted for the League Two Player of the Year award.
He will be in the squad for the Bees’ pre-season friendly with Barnet on Tuesday.
Hogan is Brentford’s sixth signing since promotion to the Championship, after Blackburn’s Alan Judge, Marcos Tebar from Almeria, Spurs youngster Alex Pritchard, Leyton Orient winger Moses Odubajo and Luton forward Andre Gray.
