Brentford sign Liverpool youngster on loan
Brentford have signed Liverpool teenager Sergi Canos on loan until January.
The 18-year-old attacking midfielder is a product of Barcelona’s famed La Masia academy, moving to Anfield in 2013.
He has played in the Uefa Youth League, scoring against Benfica in February, and is a Spain Under-17 international.
Canos, who can play either on the right flank or through the middle, made his debut for Liverpool’s Under-21s against Manchester United at the start of last season.
He has played in both of Liverpool’s Under-21 Premier League games this season, scoring in the Merseyside derby draw with Everton.
Brentford head coach Marinus Dijkhuizen told the club’s website: “Sergi is very good technically and is a quick attacking player. He gives us an extra option on the wings.
“He is young and talented and we will be able to help his continued development by giving him a chance to train and play at Championship level.”
Earlier on Monday, Brentford also confirmed the arrival of Austria striker Marco Djuricin on a season-long loan from Red Bull Salzburg.
