Brentford release defender after one appearance

Brentford have allowed defender Raphael Calvet to leave the club and return to his native France.

Calvet joined the Bees from Auxerre in September 2013 and made his debut the following month in a Johnstone’s Paint Trophy game with Peterborough.

However that was to be his only first-team appearance in a little over two years with Brentford.

Calvet, now 21, had captained the France squad which reached the quarter-finals of the 2011 Under-17 World Cup.
