Brentford pick up a point at Barnsley
Barnsley 1 Brentford 1
Florian Jozefzoon’s first goal for Brentford earned them a point.
The Bees had a number of chances at Oakwell, where Jota had a penalty saved and Sergi Canos hit the bar.
The Bees, with Jack Bonham in goal, went behind when Marley Watkins headed in from Josh Scowen’s cross just before the half-hour mark.
The visitors hit back four minutes before half-time when Jozefzoon finished coolly after being set up by Jota.
Brentford were given a chance to go ahead early in the second half when Angus MacDonald handled the ball inside the box, but keeper Adam Davies pushed Jota’s spot-kick against the post.
Canos, on as a substitute for the injured Lasse Vibe, then hit the woodwork, as did Barnsley’s George Moncur.
