Brentford midfielder Jefferies set for exit

Brentford midfielder Dom Jefferies has agreed to join League Two side Gillingham.

The 20-year-old joined the Bees from non-league Salisbury last summer before going on to captain Brentford’s B team.

He will complete his move on 22 June.

The head coach of Brentford’s B team, Neil MacFarlane, said: “Dom has had an unbelievable year with us. He came in on trial and we could see immediately what a driven character he was.

“We are delighted to see him get an opportunity in the EFL. It is a great achievement for him to come from where he was, playing at Salisbury and on trial with us, to getting an EFL contract.”
